BAPTISM

Baptism is the first of the seven sacraments received and also in priority, since the reception of the other sacraments depends on it. Baptisms are celebrated on an individual basis by appointment.

RECONCILIATION

In Reconciliation we are healed, washed clean of our sins with an outward sign of absolution.

The reconciling of man to God is the purpose of the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Grace can be restored to our souls, and we can once again resist sin. The Sacrament of Reconciliation can be received by appointment.

MATRIMONY

It is necessary to contact the Immaculate Conception Rectory at least six months in advance of your proposed marriage date. For information about scheduling a Marriage, the necessary classes to attend and other information, call the rectory office.

ANOINTING OF THE SICK

The Sacrament of Anointing is intended for all who are gravely ill or are about to undergo a serious operation. The Church also stresses a secondary effect of the sacrament: to help a person recover their health. Please inform the Staff about anyone confined in your home, hospital or in a nursing facility.

Christ instituted the sacraments of the new law. There are seven: Baptism, Confirmation (or Chrismation), the Eucharist, Penance, the Anointing of the Sick, Holy Orders and Matrimony. The seven sacraments touch all the stages and all the important moments of Christian life: they give birth and increase, healing and mission to the Christian’s life of faith. There is thus a certain resemblance between the stages of natural life and the stages of the spiritual life.
